stuff

So I went to drop off a bunch of stuff that belongs to my mother at my sister's house and I swear we came home with more stuff than we dropped off! That's okay though because we came home with BABY stuff!!! Jennifer and Stewart got our baby it's first gift! I have a whole dinning room table of maternity clothes to try on and put away for when I start to sprout a belly! It's very exciting times we're living in!!!

We also got to see our niece Madi. She's getting so big!!!

so excited

I can't wait until next Friday because we should get to hear the heartbeat!!! Josh has been very excited as he already finished painting the nursery!!! We know we are early but you can't live thinking the worst is going to happen. We waited five very long years to be this excited and I plan on enjoying every single minute of it!!!
This is Josh painting:
He will install the chair railing and it will look like this:

Crackers are food fit for kings!!

So, I'd like to just take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the maker of the Saltine Cracker. I googled the following: Soda crackers, also called "premium flake" and "saltina" crackers, date back at least to the 19th century. Premium Saltines, originally called Premium Soda Crackers, originated in 1876 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Thank you very much St. Joseph, Missouri for your impact on pregnant women everywhere! Don't take this as complaining because it is not!!! I've never been so elated to be this sick in all my life!!! It's the best thing ever! I personally can't wait until September when I get to meet the kiddo that makes me vomit between the hours of 1AM-6AM with a few moments at any other given time during both the day and the night. But, I would like to end with KUDOS to SALTINES!!!

Baby Youngblood

Well, it's officially ONE very healthy baby due on September 23, 2010!!! We are sooo very excited. I was so nervous and excited that I tripped in the exam room and knocked my jacket off the hook and it landed on my head. Josh and I got the giggles and couldn't stop laughing. Dr. Kaufmann said my beta numbers were, "Kicking Ass," which made me laugh even more. Overall, it was a very exciting appointment. I measured 6 weeks 1 day which is EXACTLY what I thought I was going to be. :-) We got to see the flicker of the heart today and that was pretty AWESOME!!!! Here's a picture of our tiny baby:

Beta, Beta, Beta!!!

I had my 3rd beta today and was told at my appointment last week that if everything progressed correctly I would have an U/S scheduled for Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Went in for the blood draw this morning and got an idiot nurse but who missed the vein in my hand and had to dig the needle around to find it....UGH!!! Painful!!! Anyway, I have a nice bruise compliments of her "sleepiness." In the future I will request a nurse who is not asleep when taking my blood!!! I waited all day long to find out the fruits of my labor. Basically with the beta tests they want to see a rise with every draw. For example, on my first test on January 18 my number was 484 so for my second test two days later they would expect to see a 60% rise. That would mean they would be looking for any number around 775. They called me that day and said by number was 1,606!!!! Pretty great number which could mean 1 of 3 things. 1. I'm further along than we think 2. My body is really responding well to this pregnancy or 3. There could be more than one baby. I didn't have a problem with any of the 3 options so I made my appointment for my 3rd beta test which brings us to today. Today we were needing a number just under 7,000 for me to be on track...instead we got 20,585!!!!!!!! So, they decided to have me come in this Friday, January 29, 2010 for my U/S to rule out TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT??? How exciting is that? Now, I won't know for sure until Friday and even then we may not know but just knowing that my body (after all these years of fighting with it) is really doing well with this pregnancy is just too exciting!

Here's the break down:
1/18/10 Beta #1 484
1/20/10 Beta #2 1,606
1/27/10 Beta #3 20,585

Bedding Set

Josh and I have been sooo excited that we've been to Target and Babies R Us twice in the last 3 days looking at baby stuff! We were a little sad that the baby bedding we picked out 5 years ago when we first started trying to get pregnant is no longer being made. We did find a new set that we love and it's really more our style. Plus, it has a frog which was the criteria. We liked that it had jungle animals since we've always liked that theme and the colors match all the other things in our house. I guess we are just earth tone decorators!

Poppy's First Gift

I read on Babycenter.com that at 4.5 weeks pregnant my baby would be the size of a poppy seed so this week we're calling the baby "Poppy." Josh hated it at first but then it grew on him. Sadly, it's only for a week because at 5 weeks the baby is the size of a sesame seed! My friend Sue gave Poppy his/her first gift. It was a rubber ducky that checks the bath water temp. Sue is so excited for us. She's been praying for us for years and was so happy that our dreams are finally coming true. Here's some pictures of Josh and I holding Poppy's first gift!!! Here's a picture of me at 4.5 weeks along:
